It is connected by coastal shipping with the rest of Dodecanese islands, with the islands of North East Aegean and with Crete. It is also connected by air with Athens daily. It has a modern road network, which connects the town of Kos with the villages of Tigaki, Zia, Asfendiou, Amaniou, Marmari, Antimachia, Mastihari, Kardamena and Kefalos.
Kos is the third largest island of the Dodecanese.
Kos is also the island where we at 'Pedigreeart' take our annual holidays which is why we have decided to promote some of its 'trades'
The place for 'Leather' is situated at top of what we call 'The Lanes'
i.e. the 'tourist' bit, in the old town!
Although accommodating for the holiday makers 'La Strada' is open all year and supplies leather goods for the whole island.
Apostolis runs the business and like most Greeks he is courteous and friendly, the shop teems with merchandise, Coats, jackets, hats, bags & belts almost anything leather. Coats and Jackets 'off the peg' are in many designs and various colours! And at 'La Strada' they offer a made to measure service (I know this because of having had garments made) which is second to none!
Value for money? 10 out of 10.

Prion (saw), Another name of the higher mountain of Cos (846m.) Known in the ancient times with the name Oromedon or Dikaios who given from Plinios the mountain look like a handsaw.
This newly opened cafe is owned and run by our friends Judy and Paul Stamos.
Situated just outside the village of Zia (which is in the middle of the island) the property was built from the ground up by Paul and serves snacks and drinks! - which is exactly what is required on a very warm greek day , half way up a mountain side.
We spent a pleasent evening sitting with our hosts sipping drinks and watching the spectacular sunset over the island of Kalymnos.
