Welcome my name is Margaret and "Theia" was started as a simple hobby. I have always dabbled in beaded items from embroidery on ball gowns to craft items for gifts and personalised stationary. I crossed over into jewellery when my daughter could not find a bracelet to match her earrings and necklace when she was married. I then entered the wonderland of bead and silver shops. The bug took serious hold and I attended college achieving my NCFE Foundation Certificate in Silversmithing.
My passion is now to design and create unique pieces of jewellery using silver and semi-precious stones. Recently I discovered Precious Metal Clay and another door opened.
Precious Metal Clay, PMC, is an exciting material developed and patented in the 1990s by Mitsubishi Materials of Japan. Microscopic particles of silver are mixed with a moist binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modelling clay. Using simple tools, objects are easily given shape, texture, and character. After air-drying, the objects are heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the particles fuse together to make a dense, fully metallic object. Fired PMC work can be polished, soldered, enamelled, and enjoyed like any other silver item. PMC is available in three different versions of silver and in a 22k gold alloy and recently in bronze.
If you like one of my designs, however you would prefer it in a different colour or size, or you have your own design ideas, please contact me for a no obligation quote.
I will endeavor to complete custom orders as soon as possible, however this will depend on the materials required and the complexity of the design. The maximum order time would be no more than 4 weeks; however I may be able to complete your order sooner!
I'm afraid items made to order cannot be refunded or exchanged as these pieces are made to the customer's own specifications and may not be suitable for resale on the website. This also applies to items listed on the website that have been modified to the customer's own specifications.
